Desert National Park is situated in Rajasthan, India. It spreads over in 3162 sqkm area of Jaisalmer and Barmer districts of Rajashtan. Of the total area 1900 sqkm is in Jaisalmer district and 1262 sqkm is in Barmer district. Though the weather conditions are very harsh in this part of Thar Desert, but it houses many migratory as well as resident birds. These includes short-toed eagle, tawny eagle, spotted eagle, laggar galcon, kestrel, sand grouse and great Indian bustard (GIB).

The Chinkara (Gazella bennetti) antelope is commonly found in this region. Reptiles like Russsel’s Viper and monitor lizard are also seen in Desert National Park.
