UGC-NET June 2026 Exam Online Application Form submission date announced

University Grants Commission (UGC) and National Testing Agency (NTA) issued notification regarding opening of the online registration portal for submission of online application form for UGC-NET June 2026 Examination. Aspirants can apply in 85 subjects in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

Submission of online application form 29th April 2026 to 20 May 2026 (Upto 11.50 P.M.)
Last date for submission of Examination fee (through Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking/UPI) 20 May 2026 (Upto 11.50 P.M.)
Correction in the particulars in online application form 22 May 2026 – 24 May 2026 (11.50 P.M.)
Announcement of exam city By 10 June 2026
Downloading of admit card By 15 June 2026
Date of examination 22 June to 30 June 2026
Application fee (General/Unreserved) Rs 1150
Application fee (General – EWS/OBC/NCL) Rs 600
Application fee (SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender) Rs 325

 

UGC NET test will ascertain the eligibility of the candidates for (i) junior research fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor, (ii) appointment as assistant professor and admission to Ph.D. and (iii) admission to Ph.D. only in Indian Universities and colleges.

How to apply:

Candidates can apply for UGC-NET June 2026 through the online mode. The link of the website is https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/

Only application submitted online can be accepted and form submitted from another medium will not be accepted. Candidates must ensure that e-mail address and mobile number provided in the Online Application Form are their own or Parents/Guardians only and accessible. All information/communication will be sent by NTA through e-mail on the registered e-mail address or SMS on the registered mobile number only.

Candidates passed their master’s degrees (Gen 55% and SC/ST 50% percentage) and those who are appearing in the last semester can apply for this examination. This exam is important as it open the portal to successful candidates for becoming assistant professors in universities and colleges in India. Besides this candidates who passed this examination are exempted from the entrance test for the admissions in Ph.D.
