The Raman Research Institute (RRI), Bengaluru, an autonomous flagship institution under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, has announced an open call for Research Faculty positions. The institute is looking for candidates to join its four primary research divisions:

  • Astronomy & Astrophysics: Including observational and theoretical work in radio, X-ray, and optical astronomy.
  • Light & Matter Physics: Focusing on quantum optics, cold atoms, and intense laser-matter interactions.
  • Soft Condensed Matter: Researching liquid crystals, polymers, and complex fluids.
  • Theoretical Physics: Covering statistical physics, condensed matter theory, and gravitation.

Eligibility & Qualifications

  • Ph.D. Requirement: A Ph.D. in a relevant field of Physics or related disciplines is mandatory.

  • Selection Criteria: Appointments are based on the candidate’s research publications, future research plans, and potential to contribute to the institute’s existing strengths or develop new, cutting-edge areas.
