Nainital: The Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES), an autonomous institute under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India, has announced admissions for the AcSIR PhD program for the August 2026 session.
Located near Nainital in the lower Himalayas, ARIES, in collaboration with AcSIR, is inviting applications from qualified and motivated students to pursue research careers in Astronomy & Astrophysics and Atmospheric Sciences.

- Astronomy & Astrophysics: Solar Physics, Extrasolar Planets, Stellar Physics and Interstellar Matter, Transients like Supernova, GRBs, AGN, Galaxy Morphology, Relativistic Astrophysics.
- Atmospheric Sciences: Atmospheric Chemistry, Trace Gases, Boundary Layer Meteorology, Atmospheric Dynamics, Aerosols.
